Morgan Miller Blair has a diverse construction practice, representing national, regional and local residential builders and developers with their residential, condo, office, retail, mixed use and industrial construction projects. Our attorneys have a broad breadth of experience and expertise in all aspects of construction, including but not limited to:
- Pursuing engineers, contractors, subcontractors and subcontractors’ insurers on behalf of builders;
- Preparation of architectural, consultant, and construction contracts, as well as subcontracts and supplier agreements;
- Representing builders in legal actions (arbitrations, mediations, and state and federal lawsuits) to recover costs of investigation and repair, and to assert indemnity rights;
- Defend developers and property owners against mechanic’s lien claims and stop notices;
- Defend and/or pursue delay, impact and acceleration claims on behalf of builders, contractors and subcontractors;
- Defend developers against construction defect claims, including but not limited to claims relating to subsidence, earth movement, and SB 800 claims;
- Defend condominium developers and converters in complex multi-party construction defect lawsuits;
- Defend construction lenders against lender liability claims and fraud claims by contractors and borrowers; and
- Represent builders and developers in disputes arising out of joint venture and construction agreements.
